"Smart" Meters
Joshua Hart and other California residents have taken matters into their own hands and returned their "smart" meters to Pacific Gas & Electric. These meters were installed without permission and against the wishes of the property owner. When PG&E refused to remove the meters and replace them with electromechanical meters, the property owners hired an electrician to remove the "smart" meter so that it could be returned to its owner, the utility.
