Real-life "smart appliances" are already out there. An unlabeled smart appliance - a Samsung Refrigerator - was dumping out the radiation all the time - despite there being no smart meter or WiFi router to connect to. It's constant needless bombardment - but easily disabled!

Study participants said their smart meter’s emissions had profound effects on their life: being unable to use part of one’s house, spending a lot of money on shielding products or having to move, experiencing financial and relationship problems, being unable to work, etc. Forty percent reported having four or more symptoms and a man who suffered from a single but serious symptom — chronic, severe nerve pain — had to go on disability leave. The majority “described clear alleviation of symptom(s) when they moved away from the smart meter(s) or when shielded from the smart meter(s).”

Most of the focus in the media has been on 'smart' electric meters and the many risks that these devices pose for customers and their families.  Another risk relates to privacy invasions associated with 'smart' water meters.  A growing number of utilities are installing these devices.

James Humphrey Jr. was found dead on his bedroom floor last Monday night. The elderly man was unable to escape after his South Dallas home went up in flames. "They came out and changed that meter three weeks ago, and the house caught on fire from that meter," his cousin alleged.

Due to public uproar, some utility companies unleashing “smart” meter systems are offering opt-out programs. Opt-out often requires those who refuse “smart” meters to pay one or more fees for the right to keep their older and safer analog meters. Some complain that the fees are reminiscent of extortion from old-time protection thugs.

Maryland Smart Meter Awareness volunteers visited with a Maryland resident to help her share her own smart meter story in hopes to help others avoid the suffering she endured. 

Some 5,500 of Ontario’s 4.8 million smart meters are being removed and replaced because of a risk they could heat up, cause an electrical short and possibly spark a fire.

The mass installation of smart meters was done by contractors and any electricians that participated in swapping meters under load are liable. Under no circumstances can electrical systems be compromised, it endangers homeowners.

CPS Energy is already working to install “smart meters” in thousands of homes across the San Antonio area, but there was one big problem Friday when they started getting installed in Alamo Heights. CPS Energy installed smart meters outside about 20 homes in Alamo Heights, but the city has a written agreement to delay the installation because residents are concerned over reports linking smart meters to health problems, house fires, and other issues.
