I find Portland Public Schools decision to install WI-FI in conflict with its decision against installing any cell mast technology on its buildings when a classroom of computers could exceed the power from an ordinary mobile phone transmitter. It is a common misconception that as WI-FI uses a small transmitter, such a low dose of radiation must be harmless. As shown earlier there are now many studies showing illnesses from these transmitters, and this is confirmed by the WHO. 

Nearly two dozen impassioned Eugene Water & Electric Board customers spoke to EWEB commissioners Tuesday night against the utility’s plan to install wireless “smart” meters by 2017. Daniela Arnon said she experiences health issues that are caused from radio frequencies transmitted from wireless technologies, such as cell phones and WiFi. She said she has heart palpitations, nausea and ear pain. If the utility decides to install smart meters that would also emit radio frequencies when they digitally transmit household energy consumption data to EWEB, she said she’d expect her symptoms to worsen.

Newark residents who repeatedly fail to schedule or allow installation of the new smart water meters could have their water turned off, according to an ordinance passed Monday night by council. Under the updated law, customers who ignore two notices could have their water turned off, though city officials have pledged to give extra notices.

If you're one of the people who has suspected cell phones/cell towers were bad news, get ready for the latest affront to our health: The 4G/LTE network. This is the latest scheme cooked up by the greedy telecommunications industry. It promises much faster bandwidth than the previous 3G incarnation, thereby providing lightning-fast mobile internet on your mobile phone or device (great for watching YouTube/Hulu). Unfortunately, there is a major downside to 4G technology (and all wireless technology that emits radiation for that matter), and it comes as a cost to our health and well-being.

Less than 10 minutes after posting the following story on Red Dirt Report – “Corporation Commission judge to hold hearing over ‘Smart Meters’ on Wednesday” – I drove by through the RDR neighborhood and noticed a bright-orange OG&E utility truck on our street. The utility worker had a Smart Meter in his hand and when I asked him what had happened, he informed me that some wires had burned up, seriously limiting power to the affected home. And sure enough, the meter was damaged and when he took me to the backyard of the home the wire was burned up and melted in several spots. I asked the utility worker if a fire could have spread and burned the house down – as has been reported in other areas – and he said, “Anything is possible.”

Supporters and protesters plead with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission over smart meters. The courtroom was packed and the lines were clearly drawn between those who say they’re affected by smart meters, and those who dismiss their claims. “Its like you’re living in a microwave with pulsing, pulsing, pulsing and you can’t get away,” said Monique Smith. She is one of two dozen Oklahomans speaking before the Corporation Commission asking them to take a critical look at smart meters.

Despite government agencies still saying that radiofrequency (rF) electromagnetic radiation is “safe”, the vast majority of independent science is showing, more than ever, that low-level chronic exposure causes health damage and disease. In addition, an alarming number of individuals – including a growing mega-list of children in schools – are experiencing symptoms of ill health caused by radiation exposure.  The sheer number of individuals reporting health effects, and the sheer number of published papers reporting health effects, are creating a critical situation which can no longer be ignored.

How is it that the US government allows you to be exposed to dangerous levels of radio-frequency radiation? The FCC limit for public exposure to microwave radio-frequency radiation is about 600 microwatts per square centimeter *for thirty (30) minutes*, at the cell-phone and 'smart' meter range of frequencies. Perhaps people living over banks of meters should aim for a thirty-minute nightly bout of sleep. These FCC levels are based solely on the heating effect of those levels, not on other biological effects. Numerous scientists and public health advocates have called for much, much lower levels of acceptable exposure, based on a long list of experimental and epidemiological studies showing clear effects at lower levels.

This project explores the invisible terrain of WiFi networks in urban spaces by light painting signal strength in long-exposure photographs. A four-metre long measuring rod with 80 points of light reveals cross-sections through WiFi networks using a photographic technique called light-painting.
