Description
This is a USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter with Built-In Ground.  Another ElectraHealth.com exclusive.

Is your laptop without an Ethernet port?  This is all too common nowadays.  Is your laptop ungrounded?  Virtually all laptops are.  Ungrounded laptops can cause a great deal of high frequency current to be induced into the human body.  Grounding the laptops has been repeatedly shown again and again to greatly reduce or eliminate these body current readings.

With this adapter, you can add that Ethernet port supporting blazing-fast Gigabit and also backwards compatible (10/100/1000) with older networks too.  At the same time, your laptop or other device will be grounded when you plug in the adapter to a properly grounding 3-prong outlet.  This solves both problems at once.

It is supported by PC, Mac, and other devices.

Plug-and-play, ready to give you super fast and reliable Ethernet instantly and ground your device.  Proudly assembled by ElectraHealth in the US and contains parts of both US and foreign origin.

Questions and Answers
Q: So this plugs into the computer then into the wall socket? Or, Into my existing computer cable and then into the wall. I bought one of these 2 years ago and it did not fit into my computer so I need to be sure. Thanks
Asked by: Judith - 3/16/2019 (Submit an answer)
A: If you bought something a couple years ago - it was not from us. It must have been something different - this product is brand new for late 2018/early 2019.

This plugs into a laptop computer or other ungrounded computer into a standard USB port - also technically known as USB A port - the large long skinny rectangle classic USB design.

It has a plug on it that plugs into an outlet to provide ground. This way it grounds the computer that before was ungrounded. Grounding the computer greatly reduces high frequencies measured in the human body.

Q: Do you have anything available for computers with a USB type C port?
Asked by: Sarah - 4/12/2019 (Submit an answer)
A: We have some adapters in stock - if you put a note in your order I will include one in there for free. Otherwise adapters like that are available on Amazon such as this one: https://amzn.to/2Za4Gab or this other style too: https://amzn.to/2UUrSdw

Q: Is this product required to replace a standard USB to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter if you already have the ethernet grounding adapter kit connected to the Switch the laptop is connected to? If a desktop computer is already grounded via a 3 prong plug is this product preferred over using a standard USB to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter with a shielded ethernet cable?
Asked by: Sarah - 4/12/2019 (Submit an answer)
A: If a laptop has a metal port with metal trim and tabs or balls on the sides to make contact with a shielded cable, then having it plugged into a shielded cable which is plugged into a switch which also has metal trim/tabs AND is grounded with our adapter...that will ground the laptop.

If the laptop has a plastic-only port, then you could just get the USB ground adapter and still use the plastic ethernet port already built-in to the laptop. That would be cheaper than this adapter. Unless you wanted one of these adapters also for a laptop/ungrounded computer that has no ethernet port at all.

Correct, for a desktop or similar computer that is for sure already grounded with a 3-prong cord...keep in mind there are some laptops that have 3-prong cords but the ground does not carry all the way up to the laptop itself...only to the AC adapter/charger block. In the case of a grounded computer - you do NOT want to double ground it. You would still want to use a shielded ethernet cable, but if that cable is plugged into a grounded switch then you want to install one of our white plastic isolator couplers in there to separate the two grounds. Connecting two grounds will cause a ground loop - this is VERY undesirable.
